    Vb 2010 Express Debugging

    Hi!

I just got a new computer and I installed vb.net 2010 express on it.
But when I debug my programs it takes about 1 minute for it to run?
So here I sitt with my new fast computer and its running slow???

    My Computer:
    Intel(R) Core(TM)i7 CPU 870 @2.93GHz
    RAM 8GB
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64

    Thanks in advance

Well on a boring twin-core 2.13 Mhz with 2GB under WinXPsp3, VS2010e startup takes about 2 seconds -- about twice as long as VB2008e, but hardly enough to get fussed about. That's with the startup option set to "Show empty solution". Showing the startup page takes about 1 second more.

The debug startup time obviously depends on the complexity of the project, so it's hard to make sensible comparisons without having the same solution to compare. One minute does sound desperately slow to me, but I rarely program anything very complex.

Its not much code in the project 4-5 lines.
I did install vb 2005 first. And did checked it on: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...20basic%202005

but it behaved very strange so I downloaded vb.net express 2010 without uninstall 2005.
Dont know if it has something to do with it...
Im going to format my drive and reinstall it all tomorrow and see if it helps

I have VS2005 Express, VS2008 Pro and VS2010 pro all installed in a virtual machine running windows XP on a 2.0ghz apple iMac (Parallels Desktop) 1core and 1GB of ram allocated to to the VM

I don't notice any difference in speed on any of those VS versions. I develop components using VS2010 but need to test on 2005 and 2008 as well which is why I switch between versions and sometime run more than one at the same time.

I also have VS2010 Pro on a quad core Win7 64 bit machine and, to be honest, that isn't all that much quicker running VS2010
