i think it's been long enough since the last thread that people have probably redone their setups 5 times over. I know i have. Here's my main nest. My wife's nest is in post 2.
This thread has one more caveat: You should list anything special about this nest in the posting as well.
Here's mine:
The computer's a quad-core amd phenom w/4gb ram, ATI 5770, standard & hd tuner, blu-ray drive, remote control, multi-function media reader, dvd burner, remote, and front display. It's controlled from a blu-ray keyboard and mouse (logitech mx5500 revolution) and has dual-monitors. The main monitor is 19 inch 1280x1024, the 42 inch display is a secondary display and can be swapped with primary. The printer is a Brother laser multi-function 20ppm. Sound plays out of the primary display, no matter which i have as primary. Current hardware allows me to drive up to four displays, and a fifth display if i get a displayport display for it. However, the two current displays are plenty (motherboard has two display-outs that work alongside the ati card).
The vcr is hooked to the computer for vhs digitizing.
Under that is a Tivo Premiere. My system is networked so i can connect to it through remote-desktop from an old laptop on my bedstand.
The system's main purpose is currently game design, but i occasionally do video editing on it for my youtube page, since it has a hardware mpeg-2 encoder. It also serves as movie/music/video server for both of my tivos and pretty well every internet-connected device i have, thanks to Orb and Tivo Desktop Plus. I can even stream live television or copied tivo recordings to my Android phone.
Finally, this setup has a Wii with dual controllers and a wii-fit board and it features a 500gb hard drive connected via Usb containing backups of all my games. I also have the images backed up on the PC.

This posting is my wife's setup. It features a 32 inch tv as a monitor, a ir remote control, a phenom-2 processor, and 2gb of ram. Both systems have win7 pro. This system not only is her main system for homework, it also doubles as a boxee-box. The blu-ray drive and tivo series-3 XL under it give entertainment when we're in bed, since this setup is in the bedroom. Forgive the mess. This photo was taken during a partially-complete spring-cleaning.
The underside of the desk sports a built-in power strip, keyboard tray, and the ASUS Wireless-N RT-N10 router, with such advanced features as broadcasting two different ssids (so guests don't have access to my pcs). The cable modem also lives under there. Here's the pic.
Every device on this desk is hard-wired ethernet connected. Dell 5-button mouse w/tilt wheel and dell media keyboard finish this setup. in addition to the remote, the PC can also be controlled via my Nokia n800's Keyboard & mouse emulator (bluemaemo), or various apps on my phone. For that matter, both tivos can be as well.
This tivo is capable of streaming movies to or from the other tivo or any of my computers, thanks to Tivo Desktop software installed on every system, and Tivo Desktop Plus on the main system.
Frankly, the only thing that has changed from that picture is that there is a different box in the desk on the left, and there is more robot stuff around the desk on the right.

can you list some particulars this time? Indended purpose and hardware?
mine's temporarily crippled. when i set it up, i bent the usb wireless adapter to the point it damaged the circuit board connection. I have a beter one on the way. the old one would fail to work upon resuming from standby on usb ports in hi-speed mode. this effectively capped the internet speed to that system at about 4mbps, or forced me to use hibernate instead of standby. Not an option for a media center, although the remote is capable of powering the system off and on (wired into the power switch) and i didn't mention but the keyboard on the table is for the tivo. it's wireless. plus since yesterday i replaced the hard drive adapter for the wii with a dock, and all movies have been relocated. Wife did the original arranging and i was concerned about air flow. I did leave the picture on the wii fit board though - it hides the wires to the screen.

Purpose and hardware for what? I guess you probably meant the robot, as there doesn't seem to be much point in discussing the purpose and hardware of the computer. Not around here, anyways.
I just recently got some new hardware. In fact, it was so recent that I have yet to get it set up fully, so I can't really say much about it, other than that it is a brain board with a fully .NET interface. I also got a new ultrasonic distance sensor that may work really well, in which case I will get a couple more. Haven't gotten the board to the point where I can test the behavior of the sensor, though.
The purpose of the robot is learning. I intend to create an AI and have a deep personal relationship with it, just like others on here. Other than that, I am trying for an electronic cat. I might even add a feature where it coughs up a resistor or two, especially at night, and especially in my slippers.

It should also clearly drop disconnected computer mouses in your bed.

Yes but only for the past nine years. I had an injury which left my left thumb immoblized for six months so I had no choice but to switch and never went back to right hand on the computer.
As I moved in my new Condo 2 months ago and got a new job as SharePoint developer for wich I work from home, I got a new Desk and a new chair, more comfortable as I will sit on it at least 8h a day even more as I'm a gamer too. So I thought I'd just post the new setup, as it's much nicer than my last one.
As you can see below the right screen I also got a Belkin KVM (DVI) switch as I have a Laptop for work and wanted to share my main 23" screen between my PC and the Laptop (didn't received it yet, they're back order). And I have a new external drive on the right end of the desk which I use to store my VMs for work.

OK, this is my place of enslavement. The PC is totally boring (like all PCs) and totally lost in shadows behind the round stool. If anyone's curious it's an ASUS T3 barebones system with an AMD64-3GHz running with 2GB under WinXP-h. The tea in the mug on the improvised desk is Twinings Ceylon "Scotland" blend, and the monitor is a fairly good Dell 20" high-whatever thing. The main thing is the view. The most distant hill is on the western outskirts of Nice, a city which usually lives up to its name. The faint blue strip which may be visible on the horizon on you screen is the Mediterranean Sea about 12 km. away. The wide building encrusting the nearer hill is an IBM research centre. The naked woman posing on the kitchen table is just your fevered imagination. And mine. BB
I didn't even notice a PC until I read the post where you mention it. That view takes all the attention. Where is that? EDIT: Oh, you said that as well in the second half of the post. I guess I'm looking at the picture and not reading much. How about posting the exact lon/lat coordinates for Google Earth viewing/stalking purposes? EDIT2: Well, mr smarty pants pointed out the IBM RC which is a giveaway. So I guess I'm just talking to myself. Perhaps I should read entire posts before I reply... Hmm...
EDIT3:
Now tell me, did I get that right or did I get that right?

Ah... I was close though That place is 1.82 km east-southeast from your location, just south-west of the Château Saint-Jeannet. Fantastic view, I hope you're enjoying it!

No, he meant June. He's only living 11 months into the future not 12.
