@Gary: No there will be no "object null" exception, jQuery take care of most javascript exceptions for you, which in most cases can be good thing but sometimes it turns to debugging hell

@FishGuy can you please post here the render result of your repeater (or at least the first 2-3 rows) and the javascript / jQuery code ?
