    can i install visual studio on window 7 basic version?

    Hi all I am wondering if I can install visual studio in windows 7 basic version or should I have windows 7 pro version?

    Which version of Visual Studios are you referring to?

    Does it really matter? I would be amazed if MS created an OS that restricted which products could be run on it....well, having written that, I guess all OS have some programs that won't run on them, but I can't think of any OS where one level will run a program that a lower level will not.

    Yeah, I see that now. I'm amazed. How incredibly short sighted. The goal should be to get EVERYBODY using the OS, so putting limits on the software that can run on it is counterproductive. MS makes their money on the monopoly, not the OS.
