Resolved [RESOLVED] VB6 and Windows 7

Need some input from the guru's. I'm thinking of getting a new notebook computer. The one I'm looking at comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Basic.

Does VB6 run successfully on Windows 7 or are there issues I should know of?
Does applications compiled on a Windows 7 operating system still work on a Windows XP operating system?

I would like to hear your opinions on this please.

To my knowledge the answer is Yes to both questions, I'm not aware of any issues.

You may have problems installing VB6 on 64-bit Win7, but it's nothing you can't work around.

    Yes, they do.
Since I discovered Delphi and Lazarus, VB has become history to me.

The only issues I can remember is that VB6 itself doesn't run very well (slow perhaps?) unless you change the shortcut to tick the "disable desktop composition" box, and as should be expected you need to run it as an admin (which you can also specify in the shortcut).
