Best IDE out there for C# .NET

    Hi,

I wonder what is the best alternative out there apart from VS 2010.

    I'm currently looking at Mono.

Can't say what IDE is the best though - I've never used anything else than VS for C#.

I haven't used many IDE's for C#, but of the one's I have used... VS is the best one imo.
Currently using VS 2015 Enterprise on Win10 Enterprise x64.

I have tried SharpDevelop, but I used it mostly to write Console Applications.

It is pretty good for windows forms, but it doesn't come close to VS2010.

Is there a specific reason you cannot use Visual Studio ? the operating system you are using, e.t.c ?

as a side note... I think Mono is still only targeting FW2.0 (I could be wrong... but the last I heard this was the case)... which means that it is essentially at the same level as VS2005... I'm not sure you can use any of the latest additions to C# in it.

Actually... MonoDevelop doesn't look too bad.

I may have to explore MonoDevelop and SharpDevelop ....
