Continental Airlines is confusing the heck out of me!
They have their own airport code for Phildelphia Airport. Why can't they use the standard airport code "PHL" like everyone else?
Their code is "ZFV", which is what gets listed on a website.
I have no idea what ZFV stands for.

Zero Flight Verification: In other words, they know nothing about the place.
My usual boring signature: Nothing

Also, in looking this up, I've discovered there are TWO airport code lsits... ICAO and IATA which may or may not necessarily be the same.

Seems that it refers to a railway station. I guess the rumors are true that Continental traded all of their jet turbines for steam engines.

lol that's funny, 30th st station is 1/2 across philly compared to where the airport is (down in university city IIRC).

Clearly you've never seen the Mythbusters episode where they launched water heaters. Just by heating them. Until the bottom blew out. One of the coolest things ever.

Didn't they blow the roof out of a house?
Delete it. They just clutter threads anyway.

The Airport is in Essington.
Yah, I know, directly off I-95. You need to take the vine st expressway to get to 30th st though (from 95 at least) and it's at least a 15-20 min ride from 30th st to the airport. You can take the subway to get to the airport though, but it's still weird they list it as a location.

Now that's what I call resourceful!! We have trucks fitted with train wheels plying on the tracks. Continental goes a step further and provides planes on track!! Amazing!!

Um, the thing about that, see, is that they also replaced the interior and exterior of the aircraft as well. So I am not sure if the word "plane" is a good way to describe it.
Here is one of the newest additions to the Continental fleet. It is a modified Boeing 787:

And if you've ever traveled Continental, you would know that "plain" is more accurate.
