Do you only want to play the L or R channel, or mix them both into one and play on one speaker?

Okay. What method are you using to play it at the moment?

You won't be able to use MCI to choose a channel, you'll need to explicitly play the file yourself.

    PlaySound? Sadly that won't work

Do a search on the web for "load wave file play" or something like that, and anything that involves WAVEFORMAT should give you plenty of info.

Check MSDN for the function documentation
