    Subdomains on the fly

    Hi all,

Just curious if subdomains can be generated dynamically. For example say I have www.mysite.com. In a SQL DB is a list of cities. Can these be used to generate new subdomain for each city? (ie chicago.mysite.com, atlanta.mysite.com, etc.) Or do I have to create every sub domain I want manually?

    Thanks,

    Strick

    Hey,

Are you using your own server? Or are you paying for hosting your website?

Depending on the answer to this question, there will either be a very quick answer, or a slightly longer one.

    Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply. I'm paying for hosting my site.

In which case, you might not have the necessary permissions to do the necessary work, as suggested by Dana. You might want to ask your host what version of IIS they run, and what, if any, permissions you have to directly alter the modules within their instance.
