Both Facebook and Twitter are bad for your health
It is true! Slashdot said so!

I have to say that I've quit Facebook and Twitter. I now feel a lot more better about my life - I am more happier, more healtier, I smile more, but there are times when I meet my "old friends" from Facebook and Twitter, which gets me rather stressed, so I've started smoking.
No, not really. I'm not smoking

Congratulations. In addition to feeling better I'm certain your self-respect has sky rocketed.
My community has just started a 12 step program to assist people in quitting. Even though I've never succumbed I volunteer as a facilitator.

Re: Both Facebook and Twitter are bad for your health
Let me get this straight, 2/3rds of facebook's users die each year? How do they even have 2 million users (or whatever number it is)? Wouldn't they only have a few thousand by now?
Besides, worldwide doesn't something like 50 people die per day anyways? Who's to say how many of those people are facebook/twitter users.

3 times as that die each minute. Around 200.000 people die each day.

lol are you kidding? I bet there are at least a couple of million facebook users here in the UK alone... I must hear it mentioned pretty much every single day.

Re: Both Facebook and Twitter are bad for your health
The estimated world population is 6,862,536,987. If only 50 people died a day that could be a very serious problem.
from wikipedia
The world population has experienced continuous growth since the end of the Black Death around the year 1400;[3] the highest rates of growth—increases above 1.8% per year—were seen briefly during the 1950s, then for a longer period during the 1960s and 1970s. The growth rate peaked at 2.2% in 1963, and declined to 1.10% by 2009. Annual births have reduced to 140 million since their peak at 173 million in the late 1990s, and are expected to remain constant, while deaths number 57 million per year and are expected to increase to 90 million per year by 2050. Current projections show a steady decline in the population growth rate, with the population expected to reach between 8 and 10.5 billion between the year 2040[4][5] and 2050.
Approxiamtely 57 million people die each year and 140 million are born each year.
57,000,000 / 365 = 156,164 = deaths per day
140,000,000 / 365 = 383,561 = births per day
Make as many mistakes as you can as quickly as you can. We want to make sure that we make a great enough number of mistakes in a given amount of time so that we can be successful.

I prefer my own 2 step program:
1. Leave twitter and facebook
2. Never come back
But thanks for the offer though. I might join some time when I am bored.

Do you also help people who want a facebook account?
My mom wants to set one up. I'm not sure what to think right now.

The one step program is much better.
1. Do not join facebook or twitter.
If you learn to apply the same program to any similar bandwagon fads,
you will find yourself much better off physically, mentally, emontionally,
spiritually, and financially.
p.s.
Please note that the above does not apply to vbforums.

Oh, they certainly had it coming.
It's printed in 1pt characters, but by signing up to Facebook or Twitter you're in fact selling your soul to the devil.
(just wait till the christians find out about this, having facebook will be as bad as being gay)

Re: Both Facebook and Twitter are bad for your health
There are several laws pending in state legislatures around the U.S. banning the marriage of facebook couples and twitter couples. I hope they pass so we can move these laws up to the federal level.
*Shudder* can you image the off spring of a facebook member and a twitter member?
What would it be called? A twiook? A facer? A fitter? A twace? It is too horrible to even comtemplate.

I can think of several words but at the risk of being banned I think I'll keep them to myself

Second hand Facebook and/or Twitter is bad for your health as well.
I declare this a Facebook/Twitter free environment...thank you for NOT facebooking or twittering.
