    Sony Nex -5

Has any one had a chance to look at or play with the new breed of micro DSLRs? I love my A230, it has just enough features for me to take some very pretty features but I notice that because of its size I tend to miss out on taking it certain places.

I was thinking of trading it in for a Micro DSLR in the hopes that I get a bit more use out of it. From what I see it is pretty much the same quality as most entry level DSLRs.

    What is a micro DSLR?

Search for the sony NEX 5 and you will see. There are also Panasonic and Samsung variants.

I'm sure you've probably read that. Looks like a decent camera, the major drawback I read is that a full resolution shot in mediocre lighting produced crappy image quality. It seems though that otherwise it produces some great images, albeit it looks a bit pricey at 630-699$. Looking at amazon it appears they have a few different variations of the Nex-5 though some which are 100 bucks cheaper then others.

I've been looking into buying a midrange DSLR myself, I've been trying to see if I can find a sale that would drop body + 35 mm lens below 500 bucks but have had no luck. If I had the money I'd be using a D-90 most likely, my sister owns three and I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to steal one.

I am planning to put my Canon Rebel XT for sale. That's an entry level DSLR. I think I might also sell the lenses with it.

I am planning to get it evaluated from the local camera shop first. There are two lenses.

    1. http://www.adorama.com/CA1785AFSU.html (Canon 17 - 85 mm IS USM)
    2. http://www.adorama.com/SG70300DASG.html (Sigma 300 mm)

I am hoping to get somewhere between 700 - 800 dollars for this kit. I also plan to throw in two filters and the tamrac backpack when I make this sale.

Good luck finding a buyer, that's out of my price range I'm afraid. I'm a canon fanboy, and I've always liked the rebel line, but I'm hoping to find something in that 500-600 dollar range (which may just end up being impossible).
