Access Macro Advice
Hi All,
I've had an ongoing challenge in trying to send an automatic email from an Access database. After researching various solutions, including some recommended on this board, I found a very easy one. I was able to compile the necessary information into a report and set up a Macro in Access to email it. The report just emails as an attachment. It works beautifully and I don't get that pesky Outlook security warning.
I tested this solution in my fake database and now I'd like to implement it in my real database. I just wanted to ask the experts if there's any reason I shouldn't do this, or any reason you wouldn't recommend this course of action. Thank you for all your help!

I cannot think of any. No problems in using the method that you mentioned

Re: Access Macro Advice
If it does what you need and doesn't break use it
Otherwise...
1) Outlook automation (you can use excel automation for a neat output and attach the file to the outlook email
2) SMTP (bit more tricky - uses CDO - and you need the email server to allow you to do this (eg googlemail in business))
Depends whether you have the time to try out the other methods.
If you use automation for outputting from access I think you will find it more useful long term and flexible.
For emails if you can use outlook (exchange server?) and automate, can do the job and is fairly easy to set up/use.
