    If I had a cat...

I wouldn't be filling my head with thoughts of useless things like iPhone, iPad, iFad... of stilletos and tops and pencil skirts.

I wouldn't be filled with the urge to buy something for the sake of buying...

I wish I had a cat. My mind had been more stable and rational back when I had a cat. A cat is such a nice companion to be with, they give me feelings of contentment.

I miss all the cats I had before...

    Wish I had a cat.

    Yeah!

They are to be fed properly and they are to be taken special care of....

In fact there is a charitable Trust for Cats (KSCT) where you should donate every month

I've got 3 2-month old kittens in my house now, though the thought of a chick w/ stilletos and tops and pencil skirts sounds better

Cats have strange powers. Most of them make their owners think that they are interesting and have a sense of humor.

When I was growing up our next door neighbor's akita dog jumped over the wall and killed one of our cats. This neighbor had a swimming pool and we didn't so my mother used the fact that their dog killed our cat as leverage so that we got to use thier swimming pool often during the summer time.

EntityX: Great Idea! You could have got the rest of the cats killed. You might have got to use their Car next... In such cases you have to 'time' the killing though. Preferably in the morning when your neighbor leaves for office

    I agree with you Baja!

I just feel like I share a deep affinity with them so being with them is quite relaxing...

I wish there were stray cats here, but sadly not a lot. I haven't seen one in the neighborhood. Plus the landlord does not allow pets.

Cats are low maintenance creatures. You could always pick a couple up from the local pound. Make sure they are not house cats.

    House cats are useless.

They have weak immune systems, so you gotta watch what they eat, otherwise you end up going more times to the vet.

And house cats cannot survive for a long time if you go away, so you have to take them with you.

Re: If I had a cat...

No pet is useless. They provide a good quantity of manure, they scatter decorative fur/feathers around and inject pleasurable smells and odors all around. The problem is when you live with one you stop noticing the nice smells as your receptors get saturated, so you have to get more and more pets to liven up the place.

    EDIT:
And house cats cannot survive for a long time if you go away
Get a tarantula, those things are seriously low maintenance. They eat once every ten days, and that's if they feel like it. It's not unusuall for them to go more than a year without food.

Also, unlike a house boat you can't live in a house cat. Well, you can, but it's not pleasant.

Cats are always awake at night, especially during the time of the night where you just have to go to the loo. Having a black cat with large yellow eyes is really fun.
A slight reflection of light turns them into nothing but eeerie floating yellow eyes of which I've had a couple of run ins; never fails to get my heart rate up .

This is untrue, especially the part about more vet visits. Keeping your cat as indoor pet only is a better choice for you and your pet. Outside pets are exposed to more dangers then a pet kept inside. You'll spend more time in the vet dealing with parasite infections, abscesses from fights, diseases from strays/sick animals. If you feed your pet a proper diet, switch between soft and hard food, and don't overfeed them your pet will lead a long, healthy, and happy life. I've spent my whole life living with 4 or more cats in my house, the ones we kept inside always lived a much longer and healthier life then the ones we let outside.

Back in Mumbai, the cats I had as a pet were never taken to a vet. They were all outside cats. They were fed regularly and that's the time they would be indoors. The only other time I found them indoors was when they napped or were delivering kittens.

Mmm... Never seen a cat in that outfit, though. So I don't know if anyone will have anything to contribute if we discussed cats in stilletoes and tops and pencil skirts.

I've got 2 cats - one is really nasty and the other is really timid so they dont get on very well...
The nasty one has taken to sleeping on the door mat though which means every time I come home I smack him in the face with the door and nearly stand on him. Here's a picture of him bringing me a present:
