Are you going to Dragon Con?
It's a nationwide Sci-Fi festival that is held in Atlanta. More info on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Con. I'm going this year. I have family who's been going for a few years now.

Re: Are you going to Dragon Con?
Why is it called dragon con when dragons are a recurring element in fantasy rather than sci fi?
Also, does this have an analogous cosplay where people dress up like dragons and go?

I don't know why it's called Dragon Con. However, there seems to be a dragon in the logo.
Also, to answer your second question, people just basically dress up in Sci-Fi-ish costumes of their choice.

Re: Are you going to Dragon Con?
I have been to Dragon*Con many times, but I plan to skip the next few years. It will be fun if this is your first time attending, but I am burnt out on it.
For me, it is...
* The same old movie stars I have met again, and again.
* The same old booths and vendors.
* Way too crowded.
* Not well organized, especially if you buy tickets at the door (It can take hours to make it through the lines).
In many cases, the volunteers who run the functions/security are overly power hungry, and take themselves way too seriously. Overall, you can have fun there, though.

Erm, is it nationwide or is it held in Atlanta? Unless Atlanta is a lot bigger than I think it is, it can't really be both.

Dragon*Con is only in Atlanta. Other conventions exist in other cities, though; like Comic Con in San Diego.

Star-trek fetish?
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'
