    Need a solution for this - sending files (.xls) to an email address

    I have this VB program that will automatically generate excel files (for reporting purpose) at certain time.

    What I want to do is - to send the excel file to an email address.

    Can it be done this way - using my VB program to capture that particular excel file and send it to any email address without the need of a web server.

    yes you can use cdo.message, vbsendmail, automate microsoft outlook and some other methods to send emails with attachments

    there are many examples in this forum, and some discussion on the different methods
    i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
    Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next

    dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part
