[RESOLVED] Login behind entering text
Hi all,
I have general question, I don’t know where to put this on forum.
I question is, many site ask some text to enter while posting commentsa long with login Id or some credentials. I do not understand the logic behind it. Can any one make me understand?
Regards,
PPCC

Re: Login behind entering text
Normally this is to make sure that you are a real person.
By putting the picture check in (where they make you enter the text in the picture into another textbox) they can stop bots from accessing the page.

Re: Login behind entering text
Yes, probably a Captcha.
There is a blight of web-scraping going on that fills forum sites with spam and worse. Those mechanisms try to defeat such automated attacks and prevent the "roadside litter of forum spam."
It's also why I don't answer posts about using the WebBrowser control.
