    computer porblem

I have a gateway g6-233M, 233 mHz Intel II, 30 gigs, 96 RAM. Whenever my computer goes through loops that look at the computer information, such as when you add components to a vb project and it gets all .ocx's and .dll's, it takes a lonngggggggg time. Also when I click open with..., it takes forever also. Why and How to fix it? Someone told me something about the motherboard once...

Defragging my 50gb with a REAL defragger (like Diskeeper, not that awful MS Defrag ) sped it up so much

Its not the 30 gigs. I recently upgraded from 4 and it was doing it then too. It started when I upgraded to ME from '95. Doesnt happen to others though and I have all the new drivers
