    George W. Bush is great

So that George Bush, Eh? What a great guy.

I think he's the strongest leader America has had in a long time. Once he whips those Californians into shape (bunch of slackers that they are) he is going to strengthen the economy and for once not listen to those tree hugging lefties.

    Good on him I say.

    Anyone dare to disagree?

How can you not like GW. He won that election fair and square nomatter what anyone says. It's been proved that even with another recount he still had more votes. And his policies will make for a financially stronger USA. I'm just hoping he does something about the vast dolphin and whale populations which are ruining our fishing industries.

You know... I was reading on the news about one of those vicious dolphin attacks. You know, the ones that are ruining our fishing industries. All the dolphins jumped onboard and clubbed the baby fishermen to death.

Well thats it settled then, we'll get the llama's and baby seals while were at it. Vicious b*stards that they are.

Actually, seriously we could do without the seals. They also trash the fishing industry. And we can use their fur for coats and their blubber for soap. Thats the beuty of sea life, very little of it goes to waste.

It's a good job there's no tree huggers on this site.

"W" is going to only last 4 years.......just like his daddy did, although I have to say I felt a little more confident when the elder Bush was in office. Actually "W" isn't all that bad, but his popularity is slipping. He has a great act with his "compassionate conservative" routine, but this won't last for long especially if he keeps pandering to the right-wing conservatives too much. The one good thing he has going in his favor is the power switch in the Senate. Now he can move more towards the middle (which is where most of Americans are) , and blame it on the Democrats which now have power in the Senate. This could actually help him when it comes to re-election.

When it comes to "Defense" Republicans have this great techo-wizard idea including super computers and lasers and the such, but when it comes to "Energy" their only idea is............ugghhh..........duhhhh..........."let's dig another hole!" HaHa...That kills me

Well his defence idea is great. I mean, who can complain about a shield against nuclear missiles. As for power, it will take some time for the nuclear powerstations to come on line, but when they do they will provide ample power for the whole country and will reduce the dependency on coal and gas.

I think he will get re-elected. He's very mis-understood at present, and a lot of people knock him, but in reality he's doing what is best for America.

    All right!!!!!! Them's fighting words......

W is a twit....his policies are ridiculous and the only thing that we have going for us is his being forced to moderate a little now since the Congressional Coup.

He's not being forced to moderate. He really is a kind considerate person. You westies always knock him because he doesn't like oranges, but if truth be told if you guys in California didn't spend so much time roller-blading and sunbatheing, and did something productive instead the country would be in a lot better conditon and he wouldn't have to do these drastic measures.

On that note....California just passed gun-control legislation that requires all gun owners to take a very expensive class before they can buy a weapon......the NRA is having kittens!!!

Yeah Bloodeye, I'm just looking for a good argument. I think W stands for ****** in Bush's case, but I was hoping to drum up a bit of a barny.

I need something to vent my frustration/boredom on.

The theology thread has dried up, HoneyBee isn't here for me to slag off.... what am I to do?

On a very serious note, it bothers me that we don't have a sensible gun control lobby. A class doesn't bother me, a waiting period doesn't bother me. Gun brokerages don't bother me (keeping individuals from selling guns to others at gun shows). But these things bother the NRA.

Background checks are suspicious at best, and registering your gun with the government is very questionable. But so long as the government never says, "You can't buy a gun" then I will find ways to deal with it.

Interestingly, Bill Clinton had a lower approval rating at this time into his term that Dubya.
