    Sorry the function smelled kind of Gaussian, I did not actually graph it. Edit: I see now, it's like a tan curve, doh! obvious now I think about it.

    He might as well assume the other number is of opposite sign because the strategy pretty much does that anyway, it just throws a bit of chance in to mix with the coin toss.
