Auto append - merge posts
I saw a neat feature on some other forum, by which if a user posted two posts in a row to the same thread, the second post would not results in a new post, but rather be automatically merged and appended to the first one. Could this be implemented in vBulletin?

If that's done here, that would be a hack... don't hold your breath.
If vBulletin decides to add it... well, that's something for their developers to do, and wouldn't be a feature we'd see around here for several years. If ever.

Well, maybe if someone has some free time. Who was it that worked on the Mark Thread Resolved hack, visualAd or Mendhak?

Re: Auto append - merge posts
Joe I think... and I think he's more than got his hands full (he usually does)... but that's immaterial... for every hack that is implemented, it has to be backed up, and re-implemented and tested each time there is an update... and with the number of sites they run... it's a lot of work... that's why updates are generally slow to happen and why hack solutions rarely happen.
If it was a trivial change... that would be one thing... but this kind of change goes to the core of the software.

I agree. Well, it was interesting to me so I thought I'd put it out there. If it gets implemented, great, if not, we'll survive
