Website content question
Hi,
I am currently developed a directory style website however I've run into a bit of a dilemma which I need help deciding on.
I've made such applications before although I've come unstuck when populating them with actual data. It seems I never have enough time or get bored with that part. And that's where my projects slip up.
My question is - what is the best method to use to populate my directory? The 'best' for me would the lowest-maintenance, easiest to update and so on.
The 2 options I am considering are:
i) Have a form where users can submit entries but then I would have to approve each one. They would have to submit any updates to me to approve too.
ii) Users can sign up and then add/update their own entries.
-
Each has their own pros/cons = for instance i) means I'll have to manually approve entries but at least I have control over the content. ii) means users can add data at anytime and so take the burden off me, however it is open to abuse.
I'd appreciate the comments of more experienced members and maybe discuss any pros/cons I haven't considered to resolve this issue.
Thanks

Re: Website content question
I would think option 1 is the way to go because you can never be sure if an entry is genuine or not.
