Disable "Excel Options" button?
Is it possible to disable the Excel options button globally rather than at the file level for Excel.
Either via group policy or registry would be useful.
If that is not possible, is there any VBA code that will acheive this that can be run when the file is opened.

Re: Disable "Excel Options" button?
Which Option button are you referring to?
Do you mean the "Excel options" when you click the Office Start Button? If yes then you can do it via the Group Policy...
See this link...

Re: Disable "Excel Options" button?
Yes, I mean the Excel Options button under the Office Menu. I have had a look at group policy but there does not appear to be anything I can set to have that button either hidden or greyed out.

Re: Disable "Excel Options" button?
Oops, I have XP, Vista and Win 7 but not Windows Server 2003 R2
Ok... lets try a different approach....
As the link mentions
Administrators can use Group Policy to specify configurations for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 for users. Excel 2007 includes policy settings for managing the following areas:
*
Excel Options
*
Customizable Error Messages
and
The Excel 2007 policy settings are located in the User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office Excel 2007 node in the Group Policy Object Editor Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. To manage these policy settings, you must first load the Excel 2007 Administrative Template file, Excel12.adm, into Group Policy Object Editor.
Are you able to navigate to
"User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office Excel 2007 node" ?
