    I would go with hen (as an option, I mean). Noah wasn't carrying any eggs with him, but live animals, I believe. So you see, at least one religious book attempts to solve at least one question mankind has faced since long.

    The egg. It's just that it was some kind of lizardy dinosaur type egg rather than a chicken egg. Eggs were around waaaay before chickens.
