Is it just me or is the chit chat thread being deserted. I come to work after not having read it all night and there only about 20 odd posts. That's nuts. I remember when (back in the good old days) when I used to have to read about 70 posts to catch up. Oh happy days.

So what's the problem?

I agree mate... I have been out of the chit chat for about a month... I have been so busy recently that I haven't had time to chat... hopefully I will have more time in the future!

No, i don't work in yeovil I wish I did. I applied for Westlands (big aviation company that has a big IT department (Harry's Dad works there)) but the bastards wouldn't accept me but that's their loss. I actually work in Chard (an even more unlikely place for a job in IT, it's about 16 miles away) for a manufacturing companay. There are only two of us in the IT department (35 in the whole company) Soon it'll be just me as my boss is leaving. But atm we are writing software to control stock flow and basically run (keep track of invoices, orders placed, sub contracted bits and bobs) the company on. Then (hopefully) we are gonna adapt and sell the software to other manufacturing companies. So in the long run, I might actually be head of a different Branch of the company. Which'll be nice. As it is I am gonna be manager in September. But that's not what you asked. No there aren't many IT jobs in somerset. Took me a year to find this one.

Chard Well, I suppose everyone needs IT these days.

I live near W-S-M, nothing much there. I applied for a job at WDS (I think, some Health Insurance place) in Taunton, doing PowerBuilder, they wouldn't give me the job, ******s , I was ideal for it. That's the only interview I've ever had South of Brizzle.

I can see some people wouldn't have a clue what you are on about.

But I know what you mean about Chard, I was as surprised as you. Unfortunatley when it comes to IT the South West lives up to it's name in being backwards.
