Resume?

Hi

summer's starting and i'm going to start looking for a job. how do i make a resume?
(i'm a highschool student. not too much job expeirence, and not a lot of education either)

anyone know of a site where they help "HIGHSCHOOL STUDENTS" with a cover letter and a resume?

or is anyone (highschool student) willing to share their reume for an example??

If you have Word 2000, you can click the New Office Document icon, click on the Other Documents tab, and to make your life easier, you can click on the Resume Wizard.

To impress, make sue you put the accent over the "e"'s, otherwise it looks like Resume (as in Resume Next).

Short? That is a lie!
Usually places want a resume long as hell.
The longer, the better. You write about your life and what you've done.

No, there are 2 meanings of Résumé. One is a short descriptive summary (in UK context) and the second is a thing you send to companies telling them about yourself (which to us is a curriculum vitae). As you can see the second meaning is US & Canad only.

I did it to send off to games companies to see if I could get a summer job testing new stuff. It never got sent in the end.

Potential employers don't want to waste their time reading a 4 page Résumé. you should keep it to one page. Just think if you were an employer and you had to find someone fast, would you read the long ones and take all the time in the world or skip to the short ones and have someone hired in a day?

Don't worry you can still get all the important stuff on there and make it look real professional. When I say one page that is one page for cover letter, one page for references, and one page for the actual résumé. Of course you can use words résumé wizard, but in todays standard that is out of date, not to professional.

i don't have enought money to by a CD player....so i obviously can't afford office 2000

i have word 97...and the resume wizard is just crap...

i just does a stuipd layout for you...which is also usless.

i'm just looking for examples...or webpages that can help me get an idea.

You know what's weird?? the french way to say a resume is CV (curiculum thingy) and im from canada (quebec) so yeah, kinda weird to see that in europe they use CV and not resume lol

Well it has different meaning that is all. Here, it is a short description of something, in the US it is a thing you give to employers detailing youself. Same word, different meaning.

i made a resume, but i got a lot of people telling me that i shouldn't use "I"

so, i'm not sure how to word it.

all i have is stuff about me, and objective.
most of it deals with computers, and i'm 51% sure that i'm not going to get a job at a big computer company.

how should i make the resume sound so, it's apeling to all orginazations.

please help.

1. NO TEXT SMILIES... this will automatically kill you.
2. Never use aliterations or imagery in it.
3. No Onomatopeoia either.
4. Nothing starting with Well, This One Time, or Did you Know... or anything along those lines.
5. No pictures, justified text, size 12 Times New/ 11 Arial /11 Tahoma.
6. Don't go through and bold important words. If they want to hire you they might as well actually read it.
7. Bold your name, address, and telephone number in the top-right of your paper.
8. Should be "full-scap", A4, or Letter sized paper.
9. Try to use stationary that has your name on it, looks professional.

i'm just going to go to all the stores around my area and hand them out
also going to reply to paper and online ads
