    Has anyone made a VB5 project using ado.. I have a server that can't run vb6 (NT3.51 server) so i was trying to get my ADO controls to work with VB5 with no success if you can help please do...

    Don't you just need the ADO addins. Haven't done a vb5 project myself using ADO but another division demonstarted an application using this ADO in vb5 a while ago.

    Will try and find how they did this?

    I do not think VB5 supports ADO

    you can use ADO w/o the data control, it always seemed kind of picky anyways and is not nearly as efficient as programming in ADO w/o it

    ADO was never a part of VB5, but it was one of the freebies from Micro$oft website. I worked with VB5 and ADO almost 2 yrs ago (at that time it was ADO 1.0) I never had any problems.

    I use ADO and VB5 all the time. The machine at home has ADO v1.5. I forget about the one at the office.

    Try installing the "Microsoft Data Access Components" if you don't have it. It is available for free download from Microsoft.
