Glide Desktop OS
Glide is an operating system that runs in your browser.
It utilizes flash for the user interface.
If you install Glide One, it makes it possible to access all of your files from your mobile device. You can even create and edit files in Glide on your mobile device, and automatically sync them to your local computer desktop(s).
They provide free storage up to 10 GB of data.
What kind of people would be interested in this OS, which doesn't let it run their applications?
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'

Re: Glide Desktop OS
I don't consider any program that requires any other program to function an "OS". An "OS" is the primary driver and environment that can execute your programs, manage memory, access the disk and other storage, etc. It needs no other programs (flash, browser or otherwise) because it talks directly to the hardware.
At best, Glide is a fancy interface.

Re: Glide Desktop OS
Couldnt agree more with what Jenner said - all it is is an online storage service, rather than an OS

Re: Glide Desktop OS
I am still trying to figure out how the sync functionality works.

Re: Glide Desktop OS
It's like Microsoft MyPhone or Microsoft Live Mesh. It synchronizes files in specific folders with other machines on your Glide network and/or with the Glide servers. (Live Mesh can go P2P or via the mesh servers). Of course, they have a mobile version too...
