    I am in search of a control that has the look of the flexgrid, but allows direct data entry (like a spreadsheet). Any suggestions. Thanks.

    The flex grid can be combined with a text box to provide data entry. Have a look in the VB Books Online (that's what it's called in VB5 - I'm not sure about VB6) - there is full source code in there to provide an excel-style interface for the flexi grid with direct data entry into the cells.
