Reputation 'balance'?
Hey,
I've been wondering this for a while... In the User CP if I look at the "Latest Reputation Received" list, there are green and gray 'gems'. What is the difference? Apparently (according to the file names) the green gems are positive rep, and the gray ones are 'balance' reputation... What does that mean? It can't be negative because there's no option to give a negative rep, right? And often I get a gray gem with a 'thank you' comment behind it so that would not make sense it if was negative...
So what does it do, and how do you give it to someone?

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
"Green" add to your rep.
"Gray" don't add to your rep. They are given by new members who don't have many posts.
"Red" stop being an idiot and getting your rep taken away.
A better explanation of the gems is found in the FAQ
when you quote a post could you please do it via the "Reply With Quote" button or if it multiple post click the "''+" button then "Reply With Quote" button.
If this thread is finished with please mark it "Resolved" by selecting "Mark thread resolved" from the "Thread tools" drop-down menu.

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
Ah, ok. So new members can't give rep yet, so they just give a 'neutral' rep? That makes sense. Didn't know that, thanks.
I don't think the FAQ explains about the gray gems, at least I didn't see it when I checked last time.

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
Still don't see anything about a gray gem other than where it's talking about gems beneath a users name (so not in the latest rep list). Oh well nevermind

And only Power Posters, Moderators and Admins can give negative reps.

This is an example:
on my reps I received from plug-in who at the had 22 posts but had a rep less than 10. I think once a user has a rep over 10 they give "Green" gems instead of gray.

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
The FAQ needs to be updated as well. it says "This was set to the lasttwenty-five (25) reputation, but may be more or less if the settings have changed."
Should be fifty (50)
Also i think each members starts with an automatic 10 points, maybe it is 5

On the FAQ it says 5 but maybe it has been increased.

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
Hey,
Out of interest, if you give someone negative rep, do you subtract the same amount of points as you would add if you gave a positive rep.
i.e. if I have a rep power of 5, if I give a positive post, this will add 5 points of rep to the poster, correct. If I give a negative rep, will it remove 5?

Re: Reputation 'balance'?
It says in the FAQ your 'negative rep power' is only half of your normal 'positive rep power'. So you would give 2 or 3, depending on how they decided to round it (or 2.5 if they allow half points, no idea lol)
