Now this is wierd...
Hey,
Ok, not sure what is going on here, but I seem to be able to reproduce it.
Basically, when I click the edit button on one of my posts, I get the following:

Rather than the expected:

The way to reproduce this is to do the following:
1) Go to a thread
2) Click Quote in one of the posts
3) Click Back
4) Then click Edit on one of your posts

Hey,
I have just tried it in IE 8, and it doesn't happen.
Could this be a Google Chrome problem? Interesting....

Didn't happen to me! Maybe because when I hit the "<" button in the browser I then have to refresh the page because the post I just typed doesn't appear.

Hey,
Just to clarify, are you also using Google Chrome? If so, which version?

I just checked and the above picture doesn't lie. I'm using version "3.0.195.27" of Google Chrome.
The above post was created in the last version of Firefox which is the browser I usually use.
Edit:
Just checking "Element Inspector" in Google chrome and it has this:
The normal code of the forum:
HTML Code:
<input type="button" class="button" tabindex="1" access key="s" value="Save" id="vB_Editor_QE_1_Save">
While the one in the picture has:

Hey,
We have already determined that it isn't happening with FireFox, but rather it would seem, only with Google Chrome. So I don't think your test rules out a problem yet. Can you check again using Chrome?

Re: Now this is wierd...
Gep: I know this is nothing to do with this thread but I used to use Google Chrome till last month and i discovered something... Every new tab that you open in Chrome will create a new process in task manager and hence will eat into your memory... Try it ie or firefox and you won't see any difference...
To check open five tabs in chrome and then press ctrl+alt+del to see the task manager. repeat the same operation with ie and ff and you will see what I mean...

Re: Now this is wierd...
Hey Sid,
I am aware of this concept in Google Chrome, and actually, it is a very nice feature, in the sense that you can kill an unresponsive tab in Google, without killing all the others. Google Chrome actually has it's own task manager for dealing with the tabs that it creates.

Unfortunately not. I dont have it here and currently being on holiday I have to suffer with dialup. If you want to wait a month for an answer while I download it I will be happy to oblige, unless you can think of something more useful I can do in the meantime.

Then it is a browser issue that vBulletin more then likely need to address in some future Patch.

I don't think vBulletin need to address anything. It sounds like a bug in the V8 or WebKit engines.

Hey,
This is quite a wind sweeping statement, and to be honest, I think it is a bit harsh. In fairness, Google Chrome is in it's infancy, but it is growing, and getting better. There are large number of features coming out in the next release. In terms of it's rendering capabilities, it is fair quicker than any of the other browsers.

To look at it this way I think they should leave the software development to Microsoft even they have some problems.

IE is quite forgiving when it comes to rendering things. Usually you can get away with badly coded or missing attributes in your html tags, and IE would most often than not render it the way you were expecting. Where as other browsers just mess up things when it comes to applying extra intelligence.
