    anyone know if there is a plan for beta2 release? or they going straight to the final?
    since its due in august, its kinda hard to say weather they will release another beta. august is around the corner

    What I have heard from various places, the beta2 will be out late summer. I hope I will recieve the beta1 before that.

    I read that there will be a beta 2.
    When is another matter, this bit there wasn't anything on this bit.

    I don't know where you heard about the final release coming in august, but I think they meant next year. Most resources speak about autumn 2002 for the final release.

    Microsoft say that they haven't set any dates for Beta 2 yet.

    MS is aiming for an EOY2001 release date. Beta2 is the feature lock...so they're pushing back its date to make sure all the features they want get in.

    I found a microsoft newsletter thats says Tech·Ed 2001 attendees will be among the first to receive the Visual Studio.NET Beta 2 and the .NET Framework Beta 2 software. The Tech·Ed meeting is scheduled for june 17, so I guess they must have it ready by then.

    Beta2 is in a pre-beta of sorts. There are a group of users, selected by MS, who are currently using Beta2 and reporting bugs & feedback.

    If you get on the aspng lists, you can get in touch with some of those users, along with the folks at MS who wrote & are further developing .NET. They all have signed confidentiality agreements so don't expect too much info on Beta2!

    The .NET course I was on this week was run by a guy called Rob Maconald who's got the Beta2 pre-release jobby. He said Beta2 will be July and he expects to see the final product Nov 2001. He's pretty close to the guys who are writing the .NET stuff so he's going to be pretty accurate.

    Beta 2, am haviong problems getting Beta 1. We got the beta 1 cde at the product demo, but the flocking thing is wasted. Have tried MS's US site, where you can order. Good o l thought, logged onto their OZ site and nothing. Freaking hopeless if you ask me.

    We got Delphi 6 Pre-Release Candidate a couple of days ago from their OZ office. Logged on, requested it, got it sent on CD no problems.

    And MS is wondering why the Sydney VB community is dropping in numbers, gee could it be lack of support.

    The problem being that you have to order the freakin thing from the US rather than the local company. MS sucks big time when it comes to user support.
