[RESOLVED] Reporting member abuse, etc
Hi,
How can we report a member/s would is/are being abusive towards others or are trying to annoy others, etc? The report post feature says:
Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.
However, what if the member is the cause of the problem?
Thanks,
Nightwalker

Re: Reporting member abuse, etc
Try PMing a moderator, explaining the situation, and maybe site some posts. Or you can just ignore that poster.

Re: Reporting member abuse, etc
You can use the Report this post feature for many things like: Post/Thread needing to be moved, Duplicate Thread/Post, AUP violation etc.
Anyone can report a post. So if you see someone harassing someone else then you can definately Report that post or even send a PM to any Mod that is online. But reporting the post is a sure way to get the quickest attention to it as all mods will se the report whereas a pm only the person(s) on the list will get notice when they log in.

Re: Reporting member abuse, etc
The reason I ask is because [Removed by Mod] started this thread but he is arguing/attacking other members for trying to help him.

Re: Reporting member abuse, etc
If someone is offensive or just plain rude then first I would suggest dropping out of the thread. We all are volunteering our time here so if its not appreciated then there are many other members that would appreciate your time/help.
I will review the thread and post or pm wwith any needed action(s).

Re: [RESOLVED] Reporting member abuse, etc
In such instances I give a negative reputation to the offending member though I recall of only doing it once, I haven't encountered another rude member recently.

Re: [RESOLVED] Reporting member abuse, etc
Hey,
I agree, I have given negative reputation in the past as well, but I have also reported the post, so that the moderators can take any necessary action.

Re: [RESOLVED] Reporting member abuse, etc
Just to add:
If it is a moderator that is being abuse (which would be shocking, but is possible), then feel free to PM an admin (or email webmaster@ this site's domain). In that case Joe or I can evaluate the situation. If you find that it is an admin that is the issue, then you probably have little you can do
Brad!

Yes, I do that too! However, some times the user doesn't get the message, meaning they fail to stop their actions.
