Notification area
I think that the Notification area (where it says "welcome, user") should have something that tells you whether anyone has replied to your subscribed threads, updated fairly often. I think it would save a lot of time, just being able to look at an icon or something telling you whether there's anything you need to pay attention to.

Re: Notification area
Haven't checked that thread that Athiest linked to ... but I simply subscribe to everything I reply to... then my link to VBF actually goes right to my User CP page... when any threads with a reply are... Seems simple enough.

Re: Notification area
I mean, while you're logged on to the site. And updating every 30 seconds - 1 minute. Sometimes you're on at the same time, and sometimes you're keeping track of a bunch of threads at once. Just some sort of icon beside the "welcome" thing that is either "you have new replies" or "no". It would be very useful. And you're right, there is another thread. Sorry. If there isn't going to be an update like this, maybe I'll make a program that beeps when there's a new post.

I think thats your only option, as such an update probably wont happen. (But who am I to say? Wait for the final answer! )
You could make use of the RSS feed that VBForums provides, to retrieve new threads.

What's an RSS, and how do you use it?

This is what the User CP page does.
I agree the Notification system could be improved by including updates to subscriptions, but that is something to suggest to vBulletin.

Re: Notification area
I'm not always on the User CP page. Or on VBForums.
It looks like I'm going to have to make this... shouldn't be too hard.

Re: Notification area
Hi, did you make that program? And if you did, would you like to share it?

Re: Notification area
Hey,
After a bit of searching on this forum, I found this thread:
http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=327151
Does this do what you want?
I have just given it a try, but it doesn't seem to be working.
