    But he enjoys that so.

NEVER EVER yawn while spraying underarm deodorant on! (I actually did this once - Cough, cough ... hack!)

Also ... NEVER EVER try to spit your gum out while you have *something else* in your mouth that you want to spit. The *something else* will lubricate the gum which causes it to eject fast and far, but the *something else* winds up getting all over your face!

Years ago I saw a David Letterman show where they were demonstrating what happens when you mix the two. They had a guy on who had hundreds of plastic containers of diet coke with mentos that were timed to mix with the coke and he put on a mentos/coke fountain show.

Neither of those are run-on sentences...

-- "It was raining I got wet."

-- "It was raining and my umbrella broke and I got wet and I had to run for the bus and Uncle George died of a heart attack yesterday and my dog suffocated to death in a McDonalds ball pit."

The first is a run-on sentence. The second is just badly constructed.

Then instead of marrying a woman and having daughters, you should have married a man and had sons.

Actually, we do that on a semi-regular basis! Took a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas in May. As they get older we'll do that kind of stuff more often! Last year we took a 5-night driving trip down to the Keys.

you are quite possibly correct or incorrect. The definitions vary. Your first example is definitely a run-on sentence but the second could be considered one due to the fact that it contains more than one idea.

I suppose. I understood the definition to be "multiple independent clauses not separated by a comma or conjunction".

according to wikipedia, it wasn't one. According to a much more reliable source however, it was.

in your case, the correct punctuation would have been a period or semicolon if the ideas were related, which they were.

Yes... and in some contexts, you'd probably get away with this too:

"It was raining, my umbrella broke, I got wet, I had to run for the bus..."
