    Winsock and Hacking

Using winsock control and listening for attempted connections... Does this open up the server for hacking attacks?

Yep. You're opening up ports, and you can send any data you want to those ports.

    Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

Hmmmm thought so. Is this true even though my app is controlling the flow of data through the port i.e even if a hacker tries to send stuff through that port, wont my application make any hacking attacks fail?

It all depends on how well your application is written, and, at a lower level, how well Winsock was written.
