You must select the forum you want to make a post in first.

    Moved

And you do that by clicking on the forum section title (such as "Database Development" or "Office Development" or "Visual Basic 6 And Earlier")

That will open that section for you and the "New Thread" button will be available.

After you click in most of the forums, scroll to the top of the page! Under the "User CP" link should be a big fat "New Thread" button.
when you quote a post could you please do it via the "Reply With Quote" button or if it multiple post click the "''+" button then "Reply With Quote" button.
If this thread is finished with please mark it "Resolved" by selecting "Mark thread resolved" from the "Thread tools" drop-down menu.

If you use the link that has been given in the first thread it is actually starting a new post in VB6 or earlier forum.

And if you need to write anything long, write in Word or Notepad. Then log on and paste it in. Auto-logoff time seems to be around 10 minutes.

I think the auto-logoff it is actually 15 minutes, but I could be wrong.

Note that you can avoid that issue by logging out, then when you log back in tick the "Remember me" box (but it uses Cookies, so you need them enabled).

Doing that means that you will then be automatically logged back in when you submit a post.

That would be correct. It is currently set to 900 seconds

    Are you referring to Cookies?

If so, that is a setting in your web browser (Internet Explorer / Firefox / Opera / ...) rather than this site.

How you enable them depends on which browser (and version) you are using - the help built in to it should explain how to enable/disable cookies (Firefox info here).

Re: [RESOLVED] Regarding posting thread in vbforum

You do not need to remove any cookies - you just need to have cookies enabled (which you might have already).

Here is a guide to cookies for IE 6 (other versions should be similar):
