I had always considered this forum to be reputable but it seems when we have people who abuse the privilege of being here like "XxEvilxX" the whole concept is lessened.
So how do we go about removing someone who is obstructing the nature of this forum?
[There is something to THINK about XxEvilxX]

You should post questions like this here. This forum isn't moderated by Administrators.
Also, the best thing to do (in my opinion) with people like XxEvilxX is to ignore them. When you come across an idiotic post like "Give me some money", just skip it and go to the next one.
This forum was created for answering VB questions, yet there are many posts that are non-VB related (and they are often the most popular ones). Hopefully the idiotic ones will just fade away, and the fun ones won't take over.
As for getting rid of XxEvilxX, he can just log in as another user. The more adminstration this forum requires for monitoring users, the more expensive it will be. I think dealing with XxEvilxX is just part of living in a free society.
It's not that I disagree with your feelings, just that I think ignoring him will solve the problem. Don't let him get you too fired up!

P.S. Remember, each time you respond to one of XxEvilxX's posts, it puts it back to the top of the list!!!

I wish I knew. I mean, I'll admit it. I'm a 15 year old programmer, but I think that most of my posts have been descent enough. I love this forum. I have learned so much from here. I love visual basic and I really admire the effort the users and creaters of this forum have spent in allowing people like me to learn. It is a wonderful environment and I hate to see it trashed by people like XxEvilxX and others who ask questions like "How long can you hold your breath"
I guess what it all boils down to is respect and responsibility. That is what this forum is based on. We must be thankful for this forum and use it responsibly. If you can use this service with an open mind, there is so much we can gain from each other.

Gee we are getting abit titchy on the subject of Evil. So the guys a clown, and doesn't appear to offer this board any constructive input. Think about it, he is either a wannabe, newbie, or adolescent; so leave him to his own devices. Hmm..thinking about i he is probably a Tasmanian with major inbreeding issues.
Just by-pass his posts and don't let them get you down.

this is one of the few UBB forums I've seen without a volunteer moderator (besides the actual Administrator staff)
I'd happily volunteer for such as job... but there are tonnes of people who have been here longer and know more, and therefore deserve it a lot more. The UBB has a moderator feature built in-- it's as simple as punching in the users name. It's a good way to reward the hard core users of this forum too...

I wouldn't mind being a moderator, but I think there are other people, who deserve it more than me.
Serge and Aaron Young for example.

Knight, yes he went back into his own post and edited it to remove ALL of his text asking for money.
The point of his behavior that really offended me was when he posted a new message and included a duplication of the sad face probably 200-300 times. It causes my browser to halt for a few minutes and I am sure would do the same to anyone else.
That kind of behaviour is actually vandalism as far as I am concerned and while people have a right to have their own say (and we have a right to tell them if we dont think it is appropriate), doing messages that start to cause the functionality of the UBB to falter is NOT acceptable.
He may have deleted that message also but to anyone unsuspecting that went into the post would have started to have problems with their browser repeat loading an <IMG> tag several hundred times over.

How eloquently asserted. Would that I had his grammatical, logical, and social skills. However, he has been heartily harried. Perhaps picking on people is more appropriate in another place.
I would like to know the origins of some of his posts, though. What can he possibly be working on for some of those questions? Could you enlighten us, Evil? What do you do?
Please be nice, everybody. Nobody in this forum is stupid, and remember that we all had very silly questions when we started. Also remember that if you are mean to somebody else, they might remember that when they know the answer to your next question.

I am sorry that some of you have been offended by XxEvilxX and his postings. I'm afraid that I did not (nor have I any desire to) see his original post, so I cannot take it any further this time. I trust that you can all forgive and forget about what XxEvilxX has done and can get on with the thing you do best: helping each other.
In the future, if you do feel that any posts are inappropriate, then please report it in the feedback forum or email me:

We will be looking at assigning moderators to the various forums to try and control outbreaks such as these.
