    Karl Malden Dies at 97

I will never forget his role in "Parrish", the 1961 tobacco farm movie with Troy Donahue, one of his earlier roles. Karl Malden's nose was huge, but his heart was much bigger, and he was a good actor. I had no idea he was that old, born in 1912.

Can you name some of his other pictures and roles?

On The Water Front (1954 or 1955)
An Alfred Hitchcock movie I don't remember the name of, but he played a cop

Although not a movie, who can forget the "Streets Of San Francisco" with Michael Douglas

That launched the career of Michael Douglas. I also remember his role as General Omar Bradley in "Patton" with George C. Scott and earlier the tobacco tycoon in Parrish (1972) with Troy Donahue.

Of the "4" we are referring to, I suspect Karl Malden was the best human of the group. He outlived them all and enjoyed the happiest life. In addition, he was talented. My hat's off to him.
