Re: and you thought some members here were bad

sorry, after posting it, I realized this guy had actually posted the same question all over the forums (over 10 times) including in some stickies that were there for other reasons, etc...

I had to spend about 30 minutes cleaning up his crap (as MSDN Forums doesn't have as good a set of tools as VBForums for mods) so I ended up deleting all of his duplicate posts except for one that people had responded in.

This is the only one left

It's times like these that I think requiring programmers to obtain licenses to be legally allowed to program would be awesome.

woss, you need to have "please" at least 12 times in your post if you want to let others know you actually really need help, otherwise we just assume you don't.

Would this mean you would get points on your license for bad coding,
or for each time one of your apps crashes?

Who would administer the tests for the licenses?
    • the government
    • an appointed body made up of people with no experience coding whatsoever
    • a self appointed/self regulated professional body

What would happen to the poor coder who does not have a license, but
just wants to write an app to chart how many nose hairs a wildebeast has?

What punishment would be inflicted on those who code without a license?
    • Community Service - building a duck pond for their local MP
    • Monetary Fine - fines used to clean the moat of their MP
    • Hard Labour - working as a slave for their MP

and you don't have the time to type "please" completely. It must be pls or plz and the capitalization must vary pseudo-randomly. It can't be completely random. Liberal use of crying icons also a must. Finally, your question must be posted in code bank, with Private message links to it sent to 60% of the members who are offline at the time, immediately followed by at least three "bump"s

As an aside: Kleinma, exactly how many forums DO you moderate?

And don't forget to mention that you have to turn this in to your prof in three hours, or you'll fail the course. Then accuse the prof of not going over what is clearly a basic fundamental - like arrays or loops - because you can't admit that you haven't a clue since you didn't pay attention in class.

kind of like "the clockwork orange", which i HAVE seen, and regretted every single second of it. Worst movie ever, and got some of the highest acclaim.

my favorite movie is Army of Darkness with Bruce Campbell... if you haven't seen that I suggest checking it out. and it got no high acclaim

yet for such a B movie, they sure merchandised the crap out of it, to near starwars/startrek levels...

And I thought I was the only one who held this view.

I don't think Pulp Fiction is bad, I just don't think all of the storylines are brilliant. Only the one between Samuel Jackson and John Travolta are worth watching IMHO.

I thought Pulp Fiction was ok. I would rate it perhaps a B or B+, nothing higher. I have enjoyed other movies that are similar in that there are a number of different story lines going on at the same time. Tolkein I think was an expert at doing that as well as many other authors.

that's because it already had a cult following before it was filmed, thanks to Evil Dead one and two, of which it is the sequel. The collector's dvd actually looked like the necronomicon and shrieked if you grabbed it in the wrong place. Pure brilliance.

I have a small collection of Army of Darkness stuff, but there have been over a dozen "collectors" editions of the movie released. I have most of them, including the one you are talking about. Maybe one day I will take some pictures of my collection and post it. I have the movie in 5 formats, VHS, VCD, laser disc, DVD, and HD-DVD.

There are also 2 endings to the movie, the original was deemed not a "happy ending" for US audiences, so we got an alternate one that ends on a happier note. I personally like the original one better. Generally they are both included now on any special edition DVD.

Maybe a bit sad I know, but we all probably collect something right? I have pretty much stopped though because it got out of control to keep up with all the crap they released, so I will only get something if it is really cool at this point.
