    yes, but IE 6 will just continue to stretch the width of a block of code rather than inserting scrollbars. I'm willing to give it a try and see who complains.

    Make it smaller! Now if one line continues for too long I have to scroll sideways the entire page. Set a max-width to prevent that.

    Yes, whatever recent change was made I'm getting both browser scrollbars and code block scollbars. Rather annoying.
