    Photoshop "Training"

I want to create design "mock ups" in PhotoShop (used to either others do it or I go directly HTML).
So thought I'd learn PhotoShop a bit but after running through a "Lynda" course on disk I found, I still know zit to follow "tutorials" like this

Anyone know some good walkthroughs and tutorials for creating Web Designs in PhotoShop?

    Re: Photoshop "Training"

Those tutorials are pretty bad actually. The author isn't a very good tutorial writer. In one sentence, he tells you the EXACT shortcut keys to hit to invert the colors on the image (which you can get to by clicking Image->Adjustment->Invert), and in the next line, he's assuming you know how to install custom brushes from some oddball website he's giving you and know how to use them.

A good tutorial for Photoshop won't use ANY shortcut keys and will only tell the user how to navigate the program by the menu and via clicking. Shortcuts are exactly that, shortcuts, and should be learned later once the user knows what they do and how to use them. Photoshop has hundreds, if not thousands of shortcuts.

Don't be discouraged. Just keep at Photoshop and you'll pick it up soon enough. It's not that hard of a program.

You may be surprised at how much manual art the experts use to make their designs though. There's a lot of "click the brush tool and..." type instructions. You can't make a tutorial for that just like I can't make a tutorial for how to tell you pick up a pencil and a piece of paper and draw a cat. I can give you a lot of direction, but your cat won't be the same as my cat, so results will vary. Such is the nature of art though.

Every of us know programming our shortcuts, doing our own brushes with patterns and putting this in program. But if you want something better you must try to learn from expert..
Somethime other work deserve our time and he have time to look in there.
I think that in this work have some part of photography magic and I tell my opinion once more.

I am studying web design too! However, I am struggling with PhotoShop and manipulating images. I'm not the artistic type!

Check the attachment for a list of photoshop tutorial websites.

After you download it, change the extension to HTML and it should give you clickable links.
