[Serious] University of Texas at Dallas
Hey all,
I am planning to go higher studies, probably MS in CS at some good (means good please, not just any university) US university. I gave GRE exam last year, but didn't score too well. Got stumped in the verbal section.
Anyways, I got admission letter, I20 etc from University of Texas at Dallas. I have yet to apply for Visa.
Is it really a good university to go for? I did my undergrad (Bachelor in Engg. with IT as majors) from a good college but not from a good university. I want to go to a university which should help me get a good job and pay (and some respect). Search on google gave me mixed response about this university and their CS school.
I have also applied at:
1) University of Southern California (on recommendation from someone I trust, though I doubt they will give me a call because of my low GRE score. But he said that your undergrad academics are too good for them to resist your admission, so I just applied there)
2) University of Illinois at Chicago (really doubtful case)
3) University of Pennsylvania (rejected )
4) San Jose State University
5) UMass Lowell
Actually I am waiting for USC, UIC. I will definitely prefer them over UT Dallas. But if I get call from SJSU, shall I defer UT Dallas for it or stick with Dallas?
Thanks.
(More questions later please)

I suggest looking at their placement record. That should help you make a decision.
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'

If you like lots of pretty girls you will definitely love USC.

Nice city, bitter cold weather, rough neighborhood. Don't wander too far off campus.
I don't know much about those other schools. But if I were you I would pick someplace warm.

Thanks for your replies.
Just received a mail. Got into USC. My preferred university.
Oh BTW, my objectives are quality education and quality life now. Girls are demonic hallucinations.

Above all else, your priorities should be the pursuit of computing knowledge and Mountain Dew. Everything else is meaningless.
