    Environmentally friendly alcoholism

If I spend my alcohol budget on whiskey instead of beer every week, then not only will I generate much less waste packaging (tin cans) but I will end up ingesting significantly less liver-destroying poison.

I've been living by these tenets for 9 days now and I don't actually have any cravings for beer.

The planet will thank me for it and so will my liver.

Man, I REALLY need a whiskey right now.
I don't live here any more.

Have you tried drinking balsamic vinegar? I hear it's great for your digestive system?

If you are truly serious about generating less waste packaging then you should be making your own booze.

Being "environmentally friendly" isn't always easy... But think of the children!

Yes it is. Just take a poo in the garden instead of the toilet.

Well, I know you Brits have some unusual customs, but around here pooping in public is frowned upon...

Unless you live out in the country where you have a septic field in the back yard, which in turn means you're watering and fertilizing the yard everytime you take a dump in the house.

Out on the farm we have tiling just under the septic field that channels it to just under the garden which means when we take a dump in the house, part of it actually makes it to the garden.

Oh goody, you get to take a dump and then spend a few hours in the garden rooting through your previous offerings.

Sometimes I'm stunned that a thread can start off about alcoholism and end up being about poop. But then I'm getting to know some of the members of this forum.

Brew your own beer and you can just keep reusing the bottles.

Week three of the experiment has just begun. I still have not had a single beer since 2 weeks ago! This is really going well.

I had 5 beers last night but they were from the tap so I didn't waste any bottles or cans. That is as environmentally friendly as I can get. If my drinking can save the environment then I'm happy to help and I'll work on increasing my efforts.

The last time I had a beer was when I was in college and that was quite a while ago. If anyone who was trying to give up drinking beer could somehow acquire my repulsion to the taste of beer they wouldn't have any trouble staying away from it. I think beer simply tastes awful.

There are literally hundreds of styles and flavors available. I'm sure we can find one that matches your pallet

But you have to visit the toilet the same amount, so that's still wasting water from toilet flushing alone. Plus the manufacturing process for beer uses massive amounts of water.

People like you are destroying my planet with your ill-though-out alcohoism strategies.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must go hose my lawn.

I bought a pallet of beer once. I hadn't got a forklift truck though so I had to drink it all in the warehouse.

My pallet is straw, so MaxMs unfiltered wheat beer would probably match that.

Wheat beer is a funeral-wake drink. It is served at the types of pubs you only visit when someone's died.

    I hate Accrington.
