I used be very badly dyslexic (and just plain dumb) until I started playing the text based Space Quest series.

Wahey - Space Quest...recently bought all 7 on one CD.
I've finished 1 through 3, but 4 onwards were really poor. They've taken out the text input in favour of icon clicking...I'm not a fan.

Same here, finished 1-3, got about 90% through 4 and about 90% through 6. Got stuck on 4 but then saw someone else finish it and couldn't be bothered to do it myself, and got stuck on 6 and even with all the guides I could find I couldn't find anything to do.
I favour the text based version too. It's not the same with the mouse, it's too obvious what you can try because it highlights stuff. I preferred the wild speculation of the old Sierra games

hehehe took me a while for that one (Leisure Suit Larry 2 in case you didn't realise)

I really only adventured as far as police quest 1 and decided to stick to the beaten track
I also had a stop off at King's Quest 1. That was quite good.
Couldnt be bothered with 2 or 3 upwards.
Then I came across Adventure Quest. But I've never seen it since.
That was quite cool. Might write it myself if I can find it
