    Resolved [RESOLVED] SilverLight versus WPF

    Hi,

    I'm planning to enhance my skill set now. But I'm in a fix to go for which one of these first - Silverlight or WPF?

    If you want to build web apps then go with Silverlight. If you want to build Windows apps then go with WPF. If you're not sure then go WPF and then you can apply what you've learned to Silverlight later, given how they're related.

    ok.. so WPF is for working with winforms and silverlight is for asp.net. So I should choose silverlight, since I'm working in asp.net.

    And remember that Silverlight is a subset of WPF, so it's not a matter of 'versus', more of when to use what.
