Thumbs up Props for the new Hyperlink function

I just wanted to say that the new 'insert hyperlink' function is a joy to use. I used to have to click on the hyperlink button, click on the bar to allow activeX controls and then click on the insert hyperlink button again. Now one click's all I need. I know it might sound trivial but multi-clicking like that is the sort of thing that really grates on my nerves.

Same place as normal. When posting it's just above the textbox along with all the other 'tools' like italics, bold, indenting and stuff. All that seems to have changed is the way it operates. Whereas it used to pop up an activeX control which would get caught by the popup blocker it now pops up some kind of dialog called 'VB Forums -Replay To Topic - WebPage Dialog'. For some reason that doesn't get caught by the popup blocker (I'm sure a web developer could take one look at it and understand why but real men do desktop ) but I'm glad it doesn't - it used to really annoy me. It looks prettier than the old dialog too. I had to click it while posting this to get the title and the experience has left me thoroughly aroused.

Thanks, but I don't recall seeing what you've described - if I needed to include hyperlink all I had to do was clicking on the "globe" button and paste some url into the input box and that's it.
And it worked that way [for me] since forever...

Yeah, are you referring to the button that has a "Globe and a chain" image?

if the old version was an activeX control, you would only notice a difference if you used IE... I'd heard rumors of the change, but since I use Firefox, I never noticed the diff... 6 of one, half-dozen of another I guess.

That is using the globe/chain button and the code is the same as before accessing the option in the "Quick Reply" box.

    Edit:

The same as with the "Post Reply" method!

I don't see any changes to how it worked before the forum was upgraded!

Re: Props for the new Hyperlink function

I am indeed talking about the globe with the chain on it. It always used to get caught by the pop up blocker when I clicked it before which was a pain because it adds about three clicks to what should have been a simple action. When I clicked on it the other day and it didn't get caught my heart skipped a beat.

It looks prettier too. It used to just be a grey box with a single textbox. Now I've got a pretty picture on it of a white tick on a black background. The picture's tooltip says JavaScript Prompt which is probably a clue as to why it's behaving differently.

Rhino, is your popup blocker turned off? Maybe that's why it was never getting in the way for you. If so you have my heart felt sympathies because you'll never get to share in the sense of relief and elation I am currently experiencing. WooHoo!
