From what I understand, you have perforated your colon so many times that is has evolved a tough skin made of a titanium / leather compound.

    You should be fine.

That depends...what did you have with it?

You know perfectly well that only Chardonnay goes with tacks...anything else is uncivilized.

Re: I just ate a thumbtack

People have eaten nails, tacks, and glass. There is some slight chance that it will lodge in your stomach or intestine and cause trouble, along with the slight chance that you will digest at least part of it. However, the most likely case is that you will have to watch closely to even notice when it leaves, which will probably be tomorrow, though could be the following day. Eat a whole can of corn right away, and when you see the corn (you will, we don't digest much of that, so if you eat a whole can of whole kernel corn, you'll see it) then you can be pretty sure that the tack is either in there somewhere, or left on the previous shuttle.

The tack will be really shiny when it comes out.

The sick, masochistic, perverse impulse that causes me to constantly underestimate the ability of CCers to post vividly graphic descriptions of their fecal matter.

How did you eat the thumbtack anyways?

Is that your girlfriend's idea of proposing? It might be similar to a news article I read a few weeks ago about a girl swallowing her engagement ring - to be after eating her ice cream voraciously.

You need to correct your girlfriend's perception of an engagement ring. But then I suppose she'll only propose to you once?
