    Error 429 problem.

    Hi friends,
I am using CCRP Timer in my project which I downloaded from site "http://www.mvps.org/ccrp".The problem is when I create .exe file of project and try to run on another PC, it is giving me "Error429 ActiveX component can't create object or return reference to this object (version 97)" . I am using VB6 and the operating system I am having is Windows XP. When I try running this .exe file on another PC having Windows Vista, it is giving this error inspite of copying files ccrpTmr6.dll,crpTmr6.dep, and ccrpTmr6.tlb (optional) to its system folder and file ccrpTmr6.chm to Windows Help folder. Does CCRP timers work on windows Vista or is there anything else I need to do.
    Thanks in advance.
    With Regards,
    AJAY

First off did you use the PDW (Package and Deployment Wizard) to create a setup package? No? Then use it and make sure those objects you listed above are a part of the PDW and are installed in the correct places.

Second, did you register the dll?

    Good Luck

There are many ways to reduce the CPU usage.... for example use the timer control instead of a loop. This should all but eliminate your CUP Usage. Similarly there are many other tips... It totally depends on your code... So if you can exactly show what are you doing then may be we can be more specific...

    Re: Error 429 problem.

all you gonna do is to manually register it by yourself:

Once your Window's operating system has loaded completely, click on Start and then click on Run.
Next step, you will input in the Run field a command that tells your computer to register the DLL file. You will need to input specific information including the path and the file name. The following is a template for the command: regsvr32 "\FileName.dll"
It is important to note that path is the actually location or directory of where the file is located. Filename is obviously the name of the DLL file you will be registering. Below is a sample command: Regsvr32 "C:\Windows\System32\example.dll"
Once the command is input into the Run field correctly, press Enter.
Once the DLL has been registered, you should receive a confirmation in the form of a pop up box. This message will list your newly registered DLL file and confirm that is was successfully registered into the registry.

    hope this helps

Your setup and installation package should take care of both installing and registering everything for you.
