WPF is difficult to handle ?
Hello,
I would like to do my next project by using WPF.
May I know that is it hard to handle ?
If I would like to design a prototype within 6 days ( 6 forms ), for a WPF newbie is it possible finished before deadline ?
Thanks for your answer

Re: WPF is difficult to handle ?
That depends what it's a prototype of but I would think it shouldn't be a problem. WPF is no harder to handle than WinForms, but it is different. You need to approach it with an open mind and not expect it to work the same way as WinForms does. If something doesn't work the same way it's not stupid or broken, it's just different. There's a reasonable amount to learn, even if you are familiar with WinForms, but a prototype is mostly dropping controls on a form and setting properties, so that part should be relatively easy.

Re: WPF is difficult to handle ?
like JMC says, it totally depends on what this prototype needs to do and how big it is... but yeah WPF is not that hard to use, you can still drag and drop controls onto forms but there usually is a little more 'tweaking' necessary to make the UI look/behave exactly how you want (ie, changing some of the XAML code that generates the UI) as the designer sometimes gets things a bit 'wrong'

Re: WPF is difficult to handle ?
The best advice to you is to get Microsoft Expression Blend and use it to create your windows, it can save you a lot of time and make it a lot easier.
I know you have to pay for it but you get a loft advantages.
