[RESOLVED] [Excel 2003] Weird Year problem
Probably me being thick but....
Have a sheet of data, one field it date/time (dd/mm/yyyy hh:nn:ss).
Copied the data from Access. Pasted into Excel
The date I have visible is : 19/01/2009 18:59:00
Note the extra space in between the time and date. I removed it - Excel put it back.
Year coming out in another cell is : 1905
Please tell me its something I'm doing wrong...
Feeling like a fly on the inside of a closed window (Thunk!)
If I post a lot, it is because I am bored at work! ;D Or stuck...

Don't do it manually. Right click on the cell and change the format using Custom->Type "dd/mm/yyyyhh:mm"
Hope I have understood your query correctly...

Re: [Excel 2003] Weird Year problem
Hi,
Doesn't work because the pivot table I will run from it reads the source data - and gives separate lines.
Turns out the formatting on the cells was waht was messing me up ... Reset back to general and the correct data appeared.
Sorry to have posted a waste of time post

You never mentioned that the pivot table was involved in this. In your post you just mentioned that you copied the data from access. I was under that impresssion and hence I suggested that way.
Anyways. Glad it is resolved.
